Japan Recovers Global Hawk Wreckage
Japan’s Air Self-Defense Force has begun recovery operations for an RQ-4B Global Hawk that crashed into the Sea of Japan off Tottori Prefecture in September. Earlier recovery work retrieved part of the aircraft, while the main fuselage had not yet been located; Japan is using underwater systems to find debris, protect sensitive technology, and support the accident investigation.
